Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement Signed by CUHK-Shenzhen and Qianhai Authority
On December 7, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen (the Authority) inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The signing ceremony was attended and addressed by Huang Min, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, member of the Party Group of the Municipal Government and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, and Xu Yansheng, President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

Huang Min said that Qianhai has become one of the areas with the closest and most successful cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong, China, while CUHK-Shenzhen, as a model of cooperation in integrated higher education between the two parts of the country, is born a strategic partner of Qianhai.

President Xu expressed his hope that through this cooperation, CUHK-Shenzhen and Qianhai will jointly build an international industrialization center to attract outstanding young people from Hong Kong and the world for innovation and entrepreneurship exchange, and shape international first-class public service platforms to provide innovative, internationalized, high-level and all-round public services, such as education and medical care, for talents of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and even outside the country.

Specifically, the two sides will jointly build comprehensive or industry-based think tanks such as the Advanced Institute of Global and Contemporary China Studies, the Shenzhen Institute of Data Economy, the CUHKSZ-Qianhai Institute of Law, and the CUHKSZ-Qianhai Institute of Modern Education Innovation. In addition, we will co-organize the Qianhai International Summit Forum to provide advice on the development of Qianhai and national strategies; jointly explore the health-care cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong with an innovative "Qianhai model"; nurture new cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong in basic education; and build an international industry-academia-research center of CUHK-Shenzhen.
